Route 3: Interpersonal Skills Training

With the color code

How would you describe your relationships?

Do you ever wonder why you respond the way you do in certain situations? Are you confused by the way others react to you? How is your relationship with your spouse? Your child who is nothing like you? Your boss? That person in your church small group who rubs you the wrong way? Are you aware of the needs of the people God placed in your life?

Are you aware of your own needs?

The health of our relationships with others (or lack thereof) is often a reflection of the health of our relationship with God. Where one is weak, the other usually is too.

The first step in strengthening our relationships is often understanding ourselves—our motives, our needs, and our desires—and then bringing them to Jesus. But how do we do that?

The Color Code Personality Assessment is the most accurate, comprehensive, and easy to use personality test available.

Whereas other assessments have their place and specific uses, they focus on behavior, communication styles, and thought patterns. The Color Code not only identifies what you do but why you do it, allowing you to gain much deeper and more useful insights into what makes you and those around you tick. The why behind what we do is what The Color Code calls our Driving Core Motive (DCM).

Driving Core Motive

Behaviors can be learned, communication styles can be improved, and thought patterns are deeply shaped by our particular collection of wounds and coping mechanisms. But driving core motive? We’re born with it. It never changes. Driving Core Motive is the engine behind behavior, communication style, and thought patterns.

Unfortunately, DCM isn’t always as easy to assess as one may think. First of all, to properly assess your DCM, you have to go all the way back to childhood and remember your responses to various situations way back then. Many people can’t remember their childhood and have to rely on their best guess. Others are confused about their childhood instincts because trauma and abuse may have literally beat their “color” out of them. This is the reason I think of Interpersonal Skills Training as Wholeness 301—sometimes we have to sift through the garbage of our past to discover who God created us to be.

(Note: If you experienced a lot of childhood trauma, I highly recommend receiving some Wholeness Coaching or Prayer Ministry before attempting the assessment.)

Have you ever felt taken apart by personality assessments?

Do you leave the assessment or workshop wishing you were any color, number, or animal other than the one you are? The Color Code it different. While it doesn’t ignore the limitations particular to an individual’s “color”, it focuses more on the gift that you are to this planet than what’s wrong with you.

Furthermore, the Color Code helps you to interpret and relate to the colors around you with the natural strengths you already possess. It also encourages you to work on improving your natural limitations one at a time in order to become more “charactered” and loving.

As a certified Color Code Interpersonal Skills Trainer, it would be my delight and honor to share the information that has so radically impacted my life and relationships.
